Sharing his experience in a different way

With just days to go till we turn the page on this past year, Giancarlo Pedote looks back at what has transpired in 2020 and his plans going forward. “Since 2007, Prysmian Group and I have been alongside one another. 2020 was set to be the year to concretise all our plans, on a sporting level with the Vendée Globe, as well as on a human level through meetings with passionate associates, men and women with whom we must share this highly unique experience so full of emotion.”
Unfortunately, the health context meant a change in our plans. There were discussions on upholding the Vendée Globe, videoconference meetings to talk about my project with the associates and volunteers from Électriciens sans Frontières and the race village at the start in Les Sables d’Olonne was closed.
We had to reinvent ourselves to share our experience in a different way. 2020 really has been a special year in that regard, even though the human and sporting adventure remains unique in its own way.
“I hope that in 2021 the situation will return to some sort of normality, that we’ll be able to meet with the employees and associates and share my experience with them as quickly as I can upon my return, because the Vendée Globe must be shared with as many people as possible.”
