Giancarlo Pedote was speaking at this morning’s satellite link-up, Wednesday 2 December.
“It’s a lovely day today with sunshine. We know we’re going to really be up against it further south. The race has just begun… For now, the situation is still okay with regards to the sea state: I have waves of around three metres. Benjamin (Dutreux) and I had a chat via VHF last night. We passed within 0.3 miles of one another!
I’m going to round the Cape of Good Hope for the first time in my life! It’s an important step; the first of the three capes.”
