A few electronic issues

Contacted by his shore team this morning, Giancarlo PEDOTE, the skipper of Prysmian Group and Electriciens sans frontières informed his team about a few computer issues aboard the IMOCA. 

 

Since last Friday, the on-board instruments (AIS - position of the other boats, autopilot and GPS) have been indicating conflicting information, it too malfunctioning. The Team Prysmian Group is currently looking for a solution with the onshore experts in a bid to get everything working again as it should.

 

The GPS problem has been resolved and work to correct the AIS errors is on the right track. However, a solution must quickly be found for the autopilots as the boat is set to pick up speed over the coming hours in some downwind conditions.
